Regarding my article on the chihuahua's POPPED-OUT EYEBALL fiasco... :(
06.27.07 (3:56 pm)   [edit]

Wow. I haven't checked in here for days because of health problems and I'm taken aback at the response this article has received.  I've read all your responses and have come to the conclusion that the most recent comments left by bg, waystone, and Lindy are really spot-on. After some serious thought and remorse for posting the article in the first place, I realize I was indeed wrong to jump to conclusions about the story, even though, at the time, it seemed there were people who questioned his ethics and treatment prior to this incident.  I'm deleting the post. I also want to publicly apologize to Dr. Joshua Winston, the veterinarian involved, for jumping to conclusions.  I was blinded by my own love for chihuahuas, especially my own Tess, and let my emotions over rule my reason.

One of the reasons I enjoy the TBLOG community so much is because you keep me honest, and you do it in a dignified, uninflammatory manner.  I can honestly say this engenders much respect for everyone here and reinforces my belief that I have many genuine friends here.  It means a lot to me to know I can trust you all with my deepest thoughts, we can disagree among ourselves, even make mistakes in judgment, and still show each other respect and tolerance.

You guys are the best.

You are pretty neat yourself, I have been so busy with out of town guests that I missed the post that you are referring to.

Hi, LadyG *wave* It's probably a good thing, too..:) It wasn't my best side, shall we say, and my readers shone the "light" on the subject and I saw and agreed with them about my being pretty one-sided about it. It was suggested to me to that taking the post down would be a GOOD thing and thus stop any further damage to the vet's reputation.

So how you been? :)

Reply to: Things are back to normal after having about 25 guests from out of town for my grandbaby's graduation from high school. It was like a big family reunion.

Funny how a blog community can help you see something different. Hope you are feeling better.

Hi, inkspector! Gosh, I just logged in here for a second and saw I had 11 comments and I *will* try to catch up on things here. Very, very kind of you - your comment :) And,

Hallelujah! Home at last! Home at last!
If I could, I'd jump up and click me heels!
Away from home for 1/2 a year is *not* recommended by this olde phart who came home to a house that looks abandoned, and thanking God for the wonderful neighbors I have who came over and mowed my lawn (not the full 2 1/2 acres) several weeks ago. I'm still recovering from the 11 hour trip home. Travel is no longer the joy it once was, but I would have considered a covered wagon if it meant going home, tricksy titters.

I hope all has been well for you, too, inkspector :)

Hey, PuC. You know... I feel for you on this one because I am someone who too feels surges of anger when I hear of animals and children being hurt. More often than not, I assume it was intentional. Why? Maybe because more often than not, they are intentional. I know you know only too well about the sick bastards out there who are cruel to smaller, weaker beings. I, for one, am awfully glad that you are out there, keeping a ready eye on these injustices. If I had to pick a side to err on, it would be the side you do... when it comes to animals and children, if there is hurt and suffering, you are indeed guilty of something, though, admittedly, it's in all of our best interests to get to the truth of what happened so other innocents don't suffer. -sigh- We can't win, eh? But as long as we keep trying... I say our hearts are in the right place.

By the way, my high opinion of you rises when you show the intelligence you have in this case. You are able to step away from yourself and see a bigger picture. It's rare and I admire it. Kudos to you.
