Wow. I haven't checked in here for days because of health problems and I'm taken aback at the response this article has received.  I've read all your responses and have come to the conclusion that the most recent comments left by bg, waystone, and Lindy are really spot-on. After some serious thought and remorse for posting the article in the first place, I realize I was indeed wrong to jump to conclusions about the story, even though, at the time, it seemed there were people who questioned his ethics and treatment prior to this incident.  I'm deleting the post. I also want to publicly apologize to Dr. Joshua Winston, the veterinarian involved, for jumping to conclusions.  I was blinded by my own love for chihuahuas, especially my own Tess, and let my emotions over rule my reason. 

One of the reasons I enjoy the TBLOG community so much is because you keep me honest, and you do it in a dignified, uninflammatory manner.  I can honestly say this engenders much respect for everyone here and reinforces my belief that I have many genuine friends here.  It means a lot to me to know I can trust you all with my deepest thoughts, we can disagree among ourselves, even make mistakes in judgment, and still show each other respect and tolerance.  

You guys are the best. 

Why is the IMMIGRATION bill being rushed through the Senate this week?  I'm watching C-SPAN2 right now and something is WRONG.  Call it intuition or 'phenomenon' but what is happening right now seems to be the result of coersion or some real, strong (lethal?) arm twisting. Could it possibly be through the info gleaned from the illegal wiretapping over the last years that have put senators in the hot seat by their conduct susceptible to blackmail and bribery.*  [One of the reasons illegal wiretapping has to go through legal channels is because anyone, including Congress, can be bribed or blackmailed from on high through information obtained by unlawful wiretapping.  It's too bad this isn't covered by our media.  I hope some of you will call your representatives about this.] What do certain VIPs have over the Senate as far as "dirt" on certain senators that may have been brought into play in order to push through any legislation that the American people have strongly opposed?  AMNESTY is NOT an accepted option for Americans.  Now the majority leader, Sen. Harry Reid, D-NV, is only allowing certain amendments to come to the floor that were put together last night.  Senators are complaining about not having the opportunity to read these amendments. 

With all the unsettling issues going on in the country at this time, why did they even decide to pick up this issue THIS WEEK?

Is it because the body politick knows Americans have a so-called 15-minute attention span and think the matter has already been settled and put to rest?  And won't be re-visited until next year - as it had been announced through the media?  

What makes our administration believe that this amnesty deal will succeed when the last one was totally ignored?   

Who benefits, and for what reason, from this bill being pushed through this week?  Does it have something to do with the upcoming '08 presidential election?  It was revealed last year that the number of people in a state determines how many representatives a state has, and who knows whether the illegal immigrants are actually voting in our elections? 

We have just learned about Californian Zoila Meyer who won election to the City Council of Adelanto who may be deported for illegally voting.  Why?! Because she's not an American citizen!! She never became a citizen after being brought to this country from Cuba when she was a year old. 

How many other illegal immigrants have been voting in our national elections?

What political party benefits by these possible illegal votes?  

The Party that takes up their cause!!  That's who!

This story about pets that were  ordered to be left behind by law enforcement during Hurricane Katrina against owners wishes is part of a bigger, much bigger problem facing America today.  This story is about the summary execution of those pets ordered left behind and the brutal mentality creeping over our law enforcement in today's world. 

The way I see it, being so dependent on .gov and caving in when the .gov wants to play nanny with us emboldens them to such an extent that tragedy is bound to happen.  Why?  Because the .gov doesn't have our best interests in mind and our law enforcement is not legally bound to *protect* us.  This is a dangerous combination, my friends.  There's something terribly wrong with an over-bloated, money-strapped .gov using incompetent agencies to "rescue" us and over-zealous, Rambo wanna-be LEO's to "protect" us in the event of disasters. 

So, my question is, what the heck did people do 50, 75, 100 years ago when they knew big trouble was a-comin'?  I'll tell you *what*.  They TALKED to each other about HOW they were going to HANDLE the problem and they KNEW they could COUNT ON their neighbors, friends and family after the disaster for whatever they needed to survive until they could make it on their own steam.  Well, well, well.  Imagine that?!  People helping people.

We, as a people, can't count on the goodwill of neighbors anymore because there ain't anymore goodwill to go around.  This bugs the crap out of me, because I'm of the generation where this behavior among people was the norm.  

What we have now is a society who doesn't even know who their neighbors are , for pete's sake. Who among us began dividing us?  Who in our midst uses in-your-face, antagonistic confrontation in their daily walk through life?  What leaders among us strive to alienate, separate and divide their little clone cliques?  Who are the Illustrious Leaders among us who are excellent role models?  Where are the teachers who have a passion in their belly to teach kids how to be productive role-models in their communities?  Who in our midst, in positions of leadership, are espousing piety and religious adherence while doing what our Creator finds despicable? Who among us are saying, "ENOUGH, ALREADY!" to the take-over of our God-given rights to govern over ourselves, our children, our property, our finances, and our decisions about how we choose to live our lives - right or wrong?  Who?

These are some questions we should all be asking ourselves in an attempt to get the monkey (.gov) off our backs, take responsibility for ourselves while being God's servant to others.  To do no harm.  To do what's necessary to restore order, civility, generosity, and goodwill towards all men.  To do.

And, why not? 

If we don't start facing up to our failure in carrying out our individual responsibilities in life and keep turning to  .gov to "rescue" us from every natural occurrence that comes with living, there may come in our time, when things will be so far out of our hands, that it won't be just our pets who are executed when we stand our ground over who rules our lives. 

This Hurricane Katrina debacle should be our wake-up call to arms to stop .gov interference in our lives.  Our Constitution guarantees we have the RIGHT to be LEFT ALONE.

All we have to do is *CLAIM* it! 

Even if it's over and over and over again.

It will always be over and over again.

It's a matter of eternal vigilence.

FLAGS ACROSS AMERICA

• Hang out your American flag with Pride
  
• Ask friends/family, others online and in community to do the same.
  
• Line your street, subdivision, or major roadways with flags flying.
  
• Take pictures, submit them to your news papers, post them online, and please
  send us a copy.
  
• Make up a simple flier to hand out around you town, or posters to put up on phone
  poles to advertise the event.

FILL THE AIR WITH MUSIC

• Phone any stations that take requests and ask them to play a patriotic song.
  
• Ask friends, family, others online, and in your community to do the same.
  
• See how many patriotic songs your group can get played in a hour.
  

• Phone into talk radio shows (phone one hour before to get online, and stay on
  hold). When you get on the air, mention the March and ask people to participate
  from home with their own flags or phone call to their legislature.
  
• Ask friends, family, community, and others online to do the same.
  

• Buy pre-made ribbons or just Red, White, and Blue Ribbon (can be single colors or
  multi).  Make bows and hang them from shrubs, doors, windows, tree trunks, or
  anywhere else in your yard.
  
• Ask friends and neighbors to do the same, as well as others in community or online
  
• Take pictures and submit to newspaper, online and send us a copy if you are so
  willing..

June 14th (D.C)- No Amnesty, "Operation Body Count/Buck Stops Here"  A
day of mourning and remembrance with a focus towards the victims of Illegal Immigration.
In the honor of those who have already been victimized, F.I.R.E. Coalition will be hosting
"Operation Body Count" which includes the names of slain victims of illegal aliens being
the main focus and a reminder that more victims will result from any passage of an
Amnesty Bill.  This is a solemn event and it is asked that everyone participating respect
this fact.  It is requested that those present bring primarily American flags. In addition will
be a tribute to the Border Patrol agents who are America's POW in this fight for our
country, and sacrificial lambs to open the door to Amnesty. To end the days events a
moment of silence shall be conducted to honor the fallen illegal alien victims, the fallen
war victims who risk their lives protecting this country from foreign invaders, and for the
United States of America, its flag and Constitution that our Government is slowly
destroying.
